Clay and took a couple of months off from recording the new record, in order for me to clear my head of some things, and also gave Tim Smith a chance to record his bass parts for it. However, good news... We will be finishing it all up in October and Im hoping for it to be released before December.

Im very excited for you all to hear it. Clay and I have worked very hard on it and it is shaping up to be the record I have been hearing in my head for a few years now. I am also psyched that I was able to get Tim Smith to play bass on it. Tim currently plays bass for Sheryl Crow, but I am a long time fan of his back when we was in the 90's band, Jellyfish. One of my favorites. I went out on a limb to contact him and ask if he would like to play on it and I am honored that he said yes!

I have decided on the album title and it will consist of 10 new tunes. It is the most laid back and "organic" album I have made yet. Something Ive been wanting to do, depsite what the masses have said they would like to hear from me. I know that people are more into the upbeat, rockin songs that make them wanna smile and sing and bop their head. However, I want this album to be something that you can chill out to. It has some darker themes and deeper lyrics than I have written in a while. I made this album for my own sanity, but if you all like it too, that is the icing on the cake.

I've been hard at work on my new album. I am very excited with the sounds we are getting so far. Im trying to take this in a difrferent direction than my past records. This will have a different vibe going on.

I originally was planning on keeping it more acoustic based, but as we go along, I am finding that the songs need a little more to make them come alive. We have recorded some very cool guitar and piano parts. But still trying to be very minimalistic about everything. Some songs are pretty big whereas some are very raw and full of space. Unlike my past stuff where everything was very big and "british".

I am very excited for you all to hear it, but I'm afraid we are now looking at late fall before it is completed and ready.

Please take advantage of the pre-ordering packages. Check the home page for details.

I begin work on my new album next week.

I have sent out an email with Pre-ordering info. If you have not received it and are interested, please email me at brian@brianwiltsey.com

Also, JD's in Buckhead has suddenly closed its doors. Therefore, our return to Buckhead on Fridays has been cancelled as of yesterday. Sorry to inform you. I am working on finding a new place. Any ideas or suggestions???

Besude today being my birthday.....I have mnore exciting news...

My band will be returning to Buckhead!! That's right, we will be starting a regualr Friday gig at a brand new bar calle JD's. Its located behind East Andrews and will be a very cool hang out spot. The Buckhead chaos begins again on June 6th. I hope to see everyone who used to come see us at CJs. I know many of you are still in the Buckhead scene. So come back out!!!

Also...I have begun working on a new album. I am taking this one a different direction than the previous ones. I am very excited about this one and will have more details about it later. Its still in the early stages. I am not planning on any big relase party, but will play a show in Atlanta very soon.

There will also be a limited amount of CDs made for this one. So you might want to pre-order it. Email me for details. brian@brianwiltsey.com

Things are getting better for me after a pretty rough start to the new year. Nothing new to report. It seems that no news is good news with me this year.

I am however getting the itch to finish up a batch of brand new tunes and hopefully record a new album this year. My goal is to find a producer and finish up the songs by this spring and be ready to start recording this summer. And then have a huge Cd Release Blowout this Fall!!! We'll see what happens. You will all be the first to know as it occurs.

I will probably run a presale when I have everything ready to go. I will not be producing as many cds this time around so the number will be limited. This is a good way for you to be guaranteed a copy before they are officially released and also I will add some other perks as well.

As for other news...(even though i said I have no new news).....I am also hoping to have an original show something this spring in Atlanta. The date and venue are yet to be determined.

Keep checking in. I want to make this a comeback year!! LOL!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope you all have a great 2008. Many of us would like to forget about 2007 and are ready for the new year and new chapter to begin. 2007 was good and bad for me, but I cant complain. I'm just sure that 2008 has some great things in store for me and you can expect to hear some new songs, a new album, and new gigs this year from me.

Be good and stick to your resolutions.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. I am keeping very busy. I have finally gotten some writing motivation and insiration back and am working on new songs for a 5th solo album.

My motivation comes in spurts. it just so happened that unfortunately this time it has come almost 2 years since my last album. Up until now I had been consistant with working on an album once a year. I am happy though, becuase i think I am writing the stuff that I have always wanted to now.

Not sure what direction I will go with this one or when exactly I will start work on it. As always, my financial situation will play a big part in it. Any investors out there??

Look for to start playing more original solo shows in 2007 and keep your ear open for new tunes.

Hope everyone had a great 2007 and has a great holiday/ My 2007 was great. Very productive and I learned a lot about myself and my career and why I do what I do.

ATLANTA SONGWRITERS.....PLEASE READ AND RESPOND!!!

If you are a songwriter in the Atlanta area and want to take it more seriously and meet other songwriters and collaborators then check this out......AND PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS AND LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS!

I am planning a monthly event to get songwriters of all experience and genre together to co-write with each other and hang out and just get those songwriting juices flowing. There seems to be a lack of collaboration in Atlanta and there does not seem to be any sort of event for us to get together and improve our craft.

Anyway, I am planning the first Monday in December or January to be the first gathering. It will take place in Roswell, GA at the Funny Farm Comedy Club, located inside of Startime Entertainment on Holcomb Bridge Road.

It will run from 7-9pm and any songwriter is welcome to attend. We will break off into small random groups of about 3 or 4 people. You will all decided on whos idea or chorus, or verse, you want to start writing a song around. You will have 45 minutes to work on it and then you will be put into another group to start a different song.

Obviously a hit song will not be written in 45 minutes, but the purpose is to just learn to write with other people about other ideas you might not have thought of and to just exercise your songwriting brain and hopefully gainthe inspiration and motivation to take your songwriting more seriously and make it a career.

These are all just tentative ideas I have. It will take a couple meetings to see if it works and to let it grow into something huge here in atlanta. I will also start bringing in speakers and indutry writers to put on workshops and to help us with our writing.

A few people will also be chosen to perform a song and tell us how you came up with it.

So......I need whoever is reading this to email me directly at wiltsey2000@yahoo.com

Please let me know if you are interested in attending the first gathering on Nov. 5th. I will then keep your email on record and email you all of the details as time gets closer.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email me about this. I want to make this into something special and I cant do it without you. Even if you have no idea who I am, this is a chance to meet new people of all ages and genres trying to do the same thing you are trying to do.

Thanks and I hope you made it through this long bulleting. LOL!

Fall is about here. That means two awesome things...

1. Football

2. I will be resuming my every saturday night music fiesta at Tin Roof Cantina starting this Saturday!!!

Tin Roof is owned by the guys from CJs Landing. It is a very cool place. Located on Briar Cliff and North Druid. Open till 4am! Thats right, come drink until 4am!!! All brand new stuff there too. Very nice.

I miss everyone that used to come see us at Cjs. Please make the Tin Roof your new Saturday hang out and we will resume our drunkeness and music all night!!!

Also....I wil be playing Tin Roof every other Wednesday night starting tonight!! This show starts at 10pm and will be a mixture of original tunes and cool cover tunes. Come see what its all about. PLEASE! I miss you all. The closing of Cjs has caused to separate, but lets change that this week.

Peace,
bw

Monday July 30th, 2007

Cool shows coming up. Please check out the tour page and come show your support.

My movie picks...Transformers - best movie of the summer! Simpsons was good. Saw it last night. Harry Potter sucked. Worst of the series in my opinion!

Met and hung out with a very funny comedian and a legend among famous comics....Carl Labove. He performed at Startime this weekend. I met him a while back during a gig and he really digs my music. We hung out again this weekend and he shared awesome stories of when he was on Seinfeld, causing trouble back nithe day with his best friend Sam Kinnison and some other cool stuff. Funny guy. I strongly recommend going to his show. You will laugh your ass off!

It was really cool that him and the other comedian of the night both came and sat with Irina and I for some drinks after the show. It felt good to be among the famous and hear stories that you cannot hear anywhere else.

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

YUH!

Check out my tour page. I have been playing some really cool new places this summer and I miss all of you who used to come out to CJs every week to see us rock your face off!! Where are you people????

Also, the crew from CJs have now taked over the Tin Roof on Briarcliff Rd. It is a very nice place with music every night of the week and the place stays open till 4 am every night!!! Cant beat that for some late night drinking and fun. I will resume playing my regular Saturday night gig there this fall So get ready to raise some hell once again!!!

In the meantime, I hope to see you at my gigs this weekend and every weekend.........

In other news, I have some very cool and interesting plans in the works. I have begun putting more time into songwriting and it might finally paying off. We will see what this month brings. Also, I have the itch to get back in the studio and record another album..As soon as my finances ease up a little I'm gonna dive on in!

Sunday, June 17th, 2007

Hello all!!

Gareth and I have returned from our acoustic tour. It was a success!! We played some great gigs and very cool venues. It was very tiring and very relaxing all at the same time. I have many funny stories and even documented the trip on video. I will share them with you very soon. Keep checking back. I will try to edit the video and put it up here soon.

For everyone that have been asking where I will be playing now that CJ's is closed...I have updated my tour page with all of the new dates and places. I will be trying out some very cool new joints and I hope to see you all there. I hope that since CJs is not around, that many of you will not stop coming out to see us. The shows will be the same, but the atmosphere will be different. Change is good!!

The owners of CJs have bought the Tin Roof Cantina over on North Druid Hills area. I will resume my Saturday nights there later this year in the fall.

TWO MORE WEEKS LEFT AT CJ'S LANDING....

Hey people keep in mind that the sad day but awesome day will be on June 2nd. This is the last day CJ's Landing will be open. There will be an all day music festival starting at 2pm featuring all of the musicians that have played at CJs on a regualr basis since the beginning. My band will end the night at 10pm and will feature some guest musicians and maybe even a totally out there surprise if Bass can work it out. LOL!

For those of you not in the loop. CJs and the rest of Buckhead was all bought out by one rich mother f*****. Everything will be knocked down and turned into a high end hotel/shopping district. BOOO!! I will never set foot back there again. Anyway, thats how the business works and everything good comes to an end. Sooner than everyone thought, but oh well.

The owners of CJs have bought the Tin Roof and Star Bar and I begin playing at the Tin Roof in the fall. In the meantime, check out the other venues I will be playing this month on my "show page".

Myself and my band have been playing weekly at CJS since 2001. When I first moved down here I entered in a songwriters contest at CJs. This was back when the live music scene was amzing and people actually put effort into going out on a Wednesday night to hear it. Anyway, I ended up winning the contest and that opened the door at CJs. Phil put me on as an opening act for Hank and Anitra and Mike Lee. I slowly but surely began to draw a crowd and some fans. The rest is history. CJ's was the first place I played here in Atlanta and was the place that got my name out to other bars and indutry people. So..basincally I owe my solo career to that place!!! It's sad to see it go.

There will never be a place as cool as that in Atlanta. The vibe and the comfort of hanging there and knowing you are among friends and family was awesome!

I will be playing on both the last 2 fridays and saturdays. So please make it a point to come hang there a few more times!

NO SHOWS SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND..

I leave tomorrow to attend the ASCAP Songwriters Conference in Hollywood, CA. I am very excited for this opportunity and the cool events there that i have recently been invited to partake in. You can read all about it in my last news bulletin below. I hope that I gain some knowledge and success from this trip. Plus, we are hitting Vegas for a few days too, so I can't wait.

Sooo, yeah....I will not be playing any shows this weekend. So dont come find me!! LOL. I will be back in town on the 26th at Startime Sportsbar in Roswell, GA

See ya then!

ASCAP Songwriters Expo....

I will be flying out to Hollywood next week to attend the ASCAp Songwriters Conference. This will be a great opportunity for me to further my career in songwriting and networking with major songwriters and industry people. There are gonna be some big names there and great workshops, panels, etc.

So far I have been honored to have been chosen for both a one on one session with amajor songwriter (the person has not been disclosed yet) and I was just chosen to have my song "Girl Who Saved The World" critiqued in front of a large audience at one of the song listning panels. It will be critiqued and listened to by some bigtime industry folks. I'm very excited!

I also submitted my song "If I Lied" to be performed by me at a networking party held at the hotel. I am waiting to hear if I will have been chosen for that too. I hope so.

Anyway, its gonna be a great trip and the best part is we will be staying at the Hollywood Rennasaince hotel which is where the event is taking place. I'v enever been out there so I am looking forward to seeing what Hollywierd is all about.

And..yesterday, we decided to extend our trip and rent a car to drive from LA to Vegas!!! We went out there last year and it might be the best trip I have ever taken. I really want to go back do we ar gonna do it!! I am pissed though that the Bealtes Cirque Show is not being performed that weekend. I really want to see it.

That's all, see ya!

CJ's This Friday Night........

This Friday will be another special night for me at Cjs for a couple different reasons...

First, it is Irina's birthday!!!! She will be bartending that night so come out and drink with her. This is the only time a year she gets wasted!! Come show her some love (but not too much love, that's my department. lol)

Second, It will be a reunion night for me and Wes Yoakum. The two of us played as a duo every weekend at Cjs about 4 years ago. It was always a great time and he is one of my favorite artists to play with. This will be a night to remember. We have not shared the stage since then. COme out and see what we are all about. It's gonna be awesome!!!

THIS SATURDAY AT CJ's LANDING....

I hope you all are having a good start of the spring season. Things are going good for me so far. The next few months will reveal many changes in my career. More on that later.

I need you all to come show your support this Saturday night at our CJ's Landing gig in Atlanta. It will be a special night for me. Brian "Thumbs" Keating will be joining us on bass. Brian and I used to play together in our college band, MBB. We had great success with that but parted ways in 2001. We have not shared the stage since then. This will be a fun and memorable night for me.

The same craziness will be happening as usual at CJ's, but I hope that you will all come out and show Brian and I your support. I do not want to dissapoint him with his first visit to CJs to paly with us. You ahve all been great friends and fans and I want to show him that.

So....come out and get ready to party this Saturday, March 24th at CJ's Landing in Buckhead on the front patio. The weather will be nice and the alcohol will be a flowin'!!! Plus the band will be taking a break the following weekend so if you need your fix, this will be the Saturday to come.

Thanks, you all rock!!!

Hey everyone, I recently sent out a bulletin on myspace.com in regards to this, but I also want to get some feedback from many of you on this email list......

I am currently planning my spring tour up and down the east coast. I am looking at playing the week before and after Memorial Day. I know this is a busy travel time for many people so I want to make sure that if I play your town during that week or weekend that most of you will be around and will be able to attend the show. I am very excited to hit the road again and want to make this the biggest trip yet!!!

Here are the areas I will be playing..

New York, NY - TBA
Philly, PA - Grape Street Pub
D.C. - Ebenezers Coffeehouse, TBA
Charlotte, NC - Evening Muse, TBA
Columbia, SC - Jammin Java
Memphis, TN - Flying Saucer
Wilmington, NC - TBA
Boston, MA -TBA
Atlanta, GA - TBA

If you are in these areas PLEASE RESPOND TO ME and let me know your plans for the memorial day time. Especially all of my friends and fans up in the Philly / Jersey area. I want to make this a success and its looking like that holiday weekend will be only time i can get up there to play.

I will be joined by a good friend and talented singer/songwriter, Gareth Asher www.myspace.com/garethasher. Some of the places we play will be all ages and some will be 21 and up. I am hoping to play a couple different gigs in each area to accomodate everyone.

Again, please let me know if you will be able to attend my shows if i come to your area during the end of May. I will not book the dates if I feel that it will be not be worth it for me to travel that far. Also if you have connections with or know of a place in your area that would be good my solo acoustic show, please let me know that info ASAP!

Hope to see you all very soon. In the meantime check out my web pages and my current album "Rain and Flies" if you have not already. Plans are also in the works for a new album soon.

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

What's goin' on people??? I am busy trying to get dates filled for the rest of the year. This is normally the slowest time for us musicians. I'm hoping there are gonna be a lot of holiday parties in need of musicians this year. (Hint, Hint).

I am working on our show at CJs on Nov. 18th. It's gonna be a huge original show with performances by Sam Fisher, Wes Yoakum Band, and us. I am hoping to play some new tunes that night and a couple rare tunes brought back by popular demand.

Not much else goin on. Just trying to struggle through the end of the year. It's been a hard couple of months. Many clubs are cutting the music for the season. Now I know how music teachers feel when schools cut the music program due to lack of funds.

I'm also writing tunes for a new album. I may be going yet another different direction on this one. I can't start it until the last album is paid off, so...people....buy some cd's!!! LOL!

Have a good autumn.

Tuesday, October 3rd, 2006

Goodbye summer! I hope to keep just as busy this fall as I have been all year. It's been exciting year, but just like every year I put out a new cd, it tends to slow down after the summer. I do have some cool shows coming up soon though.

I just updates and made some changes to my myspace page. Check it out www.myspace.com/brianwiltsey

T-shirt and CD's are quickly selling, but there are still many left. Please check out the merchandise and let me know if you want to make a purchase. Please do if you have not yet.

I'm working on more dates. A big show coming up is gonna be November 18th at CJ's Landing. We will be joined by my great friends Wes Yoakum and Sam Fisher. It's gonna be a fun night with new music, so mark it on your calendar.

Monday, September 11th, 2006

Sorry it's been a while. I have not had internet connection for a while now. It was a busy and great summer. I recently got back from my long trip out to Vail, CO. It was beautiful out there!! The shows I played were a lot of fun and I met some great new people. The biking and hiking throught the moutains was superb. I was able to shed some pounds while i was out there, which is always nice.

Thanks to all who have come out to the recent original shows. We had a good one at the Vinyl last week and I played a fun show to support a buddy of mine at the Fountain Oaks Concert for A Cause this past weekend. I had a lot of fun and I was able to play some older songs that I have not played in a while.

I've got some great shows coming up in the next couple of months. Check the tour page for details.

Take care!

Especially if you have been coming to Andrews to see me play, please check me out at the new spot. Thanks for making the last 2 years at Andrews a success.

The new album has been started and already sounds great! I will be updating with the progress in my journal. Check it out and thanks to everyone who has already pre-ordered the album. It has helped immensily. Details on that are below.

THIRD ALBUM COMING THIS SPRING..PRE-ORDER YOUR COPY!

So... with that said, it is time for me to start work on my latest album "Rain and Flies". I am very excited for you all to hear the direction I am taking this one in.

Since I am planning on making this such a big project this time around I cannot do it without the help and support from you, my beautiful fans, friends, and supporters. I am on my own with this one and the term "struggling musician" is not just a phrase. It pretty much sums up what I am right now.

With your help I can make this project live up to its potential. I am offering you all the chance to pre-order the album and you will receive it before it is officially released (sometime mid-spring). You have 3 choices:

$20.00 = A copy of the upcoming "Rain and Flies", plus your choice of one of my previous albums: Ghost On The Outside or Mind's Made Up!!!

$50.00 = An *autographed copy of the upcoming "Rain and Flies", plus free entry to an upcoming show!!!

$100.00 = An *autographed copy of the upcoming "Rain and Flies", free entry to an upcoming show (including the CD Release Party for the first 5 people), plus your name will be mentioned inside the album's booklet!!!

[*The cd will not be autographed if you so choose, however, autographed cd's will have to be opened by me before given to you.]

Please help by choosing one of the options and send an email to brian@brianwiltsey.com with your choice (if any), your name and best way of contact. I will then be in touch with you with the details. Or... just write and say hi.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE DEADLINE FOR THIS OFFER IS JANUARY 30TH, 2006. SO DON'T WAIT IF THIS IS SOMETHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE A PART OF!

I really hope to hear back from you. I am very grateful to have amazing supporters and friends like you. You are the reason why this is all possible and I am forever thankful.

Thanks again, and more details about the album release and updates will be coming your way very soon!!!
